Our play is like 'The Bottom Line With Boy Abunda' but with a TWIST! I was interviewed with Boy Abunda which is played by my good friend, Ernes. Then there's a lot of students to ask me some questions. It's really fun because I think, it's for REAL! I played my role effortless, just me!
OUR SCRIPT
The Bottomline with Boy Abunda WITH A TWIST!
Tonight’s Guest: Monique Codilla Oloresisimo
Boy Abunda: (sitting) She is one the renowned Filipino Blogger in the world. She has been featured in a lot of Fashion Magazines and Fashion Websites in the whole world. She’s once interviewed by Miss Tyra Banks. And she has worked with Nigel Barker for a shoot for a clothing line! Please welcome, Miss Monique Codilla Oloresisimo
Monique: (enters the room; gives the audience a wave and a bright smile) Hi Tito Boy! (shake hands with Tito Boy)
Boy Abunda: (stands) Take a seat!
Monique: (take a seat) Thank you.
Boy Abunda: Tonight, we’re going to talk about your journey as a blogger. How did you became as one of the most popular bloggers the whole world, how did you make Filipinos open about blogging and what are your sacrifices to achieve where you are now?
Monique: Oooh! Let’s start!
Boy Abunda: I'll ask you first! What is blogging and how it works?
Monique: Blogging is very popular today. It allows people to interact. Blogging has become as one of the SEO or Search Engine Optimization. Google and Yahoo has also SEO but Blogs are more updated because of the bloggers like me. How it works? Some bloggers use HTML codes to create their blogs but me, I just use blogging site to easily create my posts. Once you've posted something, everybody's allowed to view your blog. And that's it!
Boy Abunda: Now we know. We invited some students from Pamantasan ng Cabuyao to ask you some questions. So audience, start to give your questions to Monique!
Audience1: (raise hand; stands up) Hi Miss Monique!
Monique: Hi!
Audience1: I’m a fan of yours.
Monique: Oh nice to meet you!
Audience1: Uhm. What encouraged you to start blogging?
Monique: Uhm. I started blogging when I was 17. I created a blog because I think it’s cool. And I’m surprised that it’s cooler than I expected! It’s…uhm…what would be good term to describe it???uhm…SUPERB! It’s so superb!
Audience1: Another question, Why do you find it, SUPERB?!
Monique: Why do I find it superb? I think, the fact that you express yourself makes it superb!
Boy Abunda: Thanks for your questions, Audience1! (Looks at Monique) We’re just starting, Monique!
Monique: Hooo! Give to me your questions! (Laughs with Tito Boy)
Boy Abunda: Audience, questions please!
Audience2: (raise hand; stands up) Miss Monique, on what category would you put your blog?
Monique: Uhm. A lot of people actually regard it as Fashion Blog. But, I consider it myself as a personal blog, just like a journal!
Audience2: Did you think that your blog will be like this big?
Monique: No! I didn't think that it will be this big! As I've said a while ago, I created a blog because I think it’s cool! No agenda of creating it big! Just want to post what I really feel!
Boy Abunda: Well, you've had a “job well done” in expressing yourself!
Monique: I think so!
Audience3: (raise hand; stands up) How did you get your first blog sponsor?
Monique: Uhm. My first blog sponsor is Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt. I got them because I blog about their product then I think they liked it! Then…uhm…this is actually weird. Uhm I DM them on Twitter and I offer myself to get them as my blog sponsor! This is not usual because bloggers are asked to be sponsored by a certain product not to get sponsors by asking. But then, they gave me a chance and now, they’re still one of my sponsors!
Audience3: Why did you ask them to be your sponsor?
Monique: Well, I liked their Frozen Yogurt! But seriously, bloggers should get a sponsor that they believe in. Once you believe in the product that sponsors you, it’s much easier to bring out good words about them!
Boy Abunda: Audience is getting interested about you, now!
Monique: Question!!!
Audience4: (raise hand; stands up) Does somebody inspires you to blog?
Monique: Ooooh! What a question, huh! My readers? Of course, my readers! My readers!
Audience4: Okay. What makes you motivated to blog?
Monique: My readers! Uhm. The feeling that your blog posts also inspire your readers, make me motivated to blog!
Boy Abunda: And the audience went personal!
Monique: Yeah! I was shocked with the question, huh!
Audience5: (raise hand; stands up) What did you sacrifice to achieve where you are now?
Monique: I didn’t pursue my career as an Engineer because I think that I will be more successful in the field of Blogging than in Engineering.
Audience5: Do you think it’s worth the sacrifice?
Monique: I think so. All of you would agree with me that doing what you love makes you successful! It’s not that I don’t love to be an Engineer; it’s just that I feel my worth more with all the good comments I receive from my readers!
Boy Abunda: Ooooh! Dramatic!
Monique: Oh I wanna cry!
Audience6: Would you consider yourself a professional blogger?
Monique: I don’t think so. There’s no such thing as “Rules in Blogging” that’s why I don’t think that there should be a ranking when it comes to expressing yourself!
Audience6: Do you encourage people to blog?
Monique: Not really! I just want other to know that there is much easier and fun way in expressing what you feel. You just have to open a Google Plus account, then blog!
Boy Abunda: For me, you’re the most professional blogger!
Monique: Thanks, Tito Boy!
Audience7: (raise hand; stands up) How it feels to be interviewed by Tyra Banks?
Monique: It’s really fun to be interviewed by her! It feels like we’re friends having a sister chit-chat! It’s life changing!
Audience7: And how it feels to work with Nigel Barker?
Monique: Uhm. Working with him really makes me feel beautiful! Really! Because it’s such an honor to get Nigel Barker as your photographer!
Boy Abunda: I also wanna work with them!
Monique: I’ll tell them, Tito Boy!
Boy Abunda: And we’re down to the last Audience!
Audience8: What advice can you give those upcoming bloggers?
Monique: Don’t dare lose hope. I know some of those starter bloggers are losing hope because they just get small views every day! Don’t you think about views, guys! Keep it in mind that blogging is not all about millions of views or a lot of sponsors. It’s about expressing yourself freely! But you should also keep it in mind that you have responsible in your readers, you have to be responsible in what you post on your blog because it might make or break some else's life. I thank you, bow!
Boy Abunda: And you will take home the crown!
Monique: Thank you, Tito Boy!
Boy Abunda: No! Thank you, Monique! Thank you for giving us your time for this Bottom Line Episode!
Monique: Thank you. Thank you for inviting me here.
Boy Abunda: And this is the Bottom Line! Thank you for watching!
